Serve in the city of Detroit!

 

The city of Detroit is a man-made economic disaster filled with those that need our help.  It's growth and prosperity around the automobile and steel industries was only rivaled by it's epic collapse when those industries packed up their manufacturing and left thousands without jobs.  Slums and ruins surround the commercial district and a glimmers of hope only exist in their sports teams.  Detroit is a black eye on the American dream and in desperate need of help.

 

The ELCA has committed to change in Detroit by locating the 2015 ELCA National Youth Gathering there.  LutheranHANDS followed their lead by establishing a youth adults mission trip to this city in order to plant the seeds for a much needed turnaround.
