Food and beverages are not provided by the charter bus company nor LutheranHANDS

Food and beverages are permitted on the buses as long as everything is contained in your carry-on bag

No alcohol, alcoholic beverages, or tobacco products are permitted
Bathroom Breaks:

The bus will stop about every 4-6 hours for quick bio-breaks. Typical rest stop locations are state-managed reststops with vending or fast food

The bus will stop for lunch. Typically, the bus driver finds a location where there are fast foot and restaurants within a few block radius so travelers have lunch options. Lunch will be the responsbility of the traveler and is not included in the cost of the trip.

Stops are typically no more than 15 minutes, unless the bus is stopping for gas or lunch

Details around Sunday 7/19 departure
We will be departing from our Gathering hotels. Before you catch the Gathering shuttles for worship, check out of your hotel and store your luggage the the space your hotel as designated. Catch the Gathering shuttles to worship and, after worship, back to your hotel. You will then have until 2pm to get lunch before our buses pick you up for the journey home!
What do I owe?
LutheranHANDS requires a $100 deposit for those notified that they are traveling to Detroit with LutheranHANDS.

When is the rest of the money due?
The full balance for each participant must be paid or postmarked by April 15, 2015. All late payments postmarked or paid after March 15, 2014 will be subject to a $25 late fee per person.
How do I take my name off of the waiting list, change my group size, or change any information on my entry?
Simply email registrar@lutheranhands.org if you would like to add / delete / or modify any entry you made to the waiting list. The $100 deposit is not refundable. The balance is refundable up until March 15, 2014. Substitutions are accepted up until departure day.
Why the price difference between synods?
LutheranHANDS is contracted to a charter bus company for all locations. The prices quoted LutheranHANDS are different based on the different distances from Detroit. The synods further away require more fuel and more mileage and, therefore, are a slightly higher cost.
Will groups be split up?
If we do not have enough space on the bus to accommodate your entire group, then we will not allow a partial group to take the bus. Groups will not be split up and required to attend different launch sites. we do, however, reserve the right to split your group across multiple buses at your launch site.
In order to save you more money on your Gathering trip, we are leaving in the evening of July 14th and traveling overnight so you do NOT need to pay for a hotel room Tuesday night.
